This sucks!!! I just bought Pretties($14.76) and Specials[Hardcover]($23.15) from Kinokuniya and Borders separately on 6 September 2007, Thursday. But guess what? When I reached home and went online, I found that Uglies Boxed Set(containing Uglies, Pretties and Specials) is due to be released on October 23, 2007 at a price of approximately $39.61(I convert the amount directly from USD)!!!! Braids are oldies? I don't think so.(My opinions)

Some unnamed person tagged at my tagboard asking me on why do I want to braid my hair as it such oldies. But I don't think so for given the pictures which latest hairstyles magazines provided, stars are wearing their hair with braids. They are suppose to be the trendsetter aren't they? If you improvise the braids which their hairstylist did, there's no way that the look is oldies. Perhaps I did not make myself clear in my post and thus that resulted to some misconception on my idea of braiding my hair. Below are some recent pictures to show that stars do wear braids as well and it's not oldies if you just know how to do it the right way.

Below: April 2007 American Seventeen issue

Below: April 2007 American Seventeen issue with Molly Sims(No 6) wearing French Braid at the crown of her head.

Below: April 2007 American Seventeen issue with Molly Sims wearing French Braid at the crown of her head.

Below: Emily Osment taken 06-02-2007 wearing braids.

Below: Rachel McAdams wearing braids taken as of 14-03-2007.

These are just some of the picture I found of stars wearing braids. I have more of them in my magazines collections. The American Seventeen magazine is providing us ways of reinventing our looks with French braids! So why should it be considered oldies if magazines are featuring braids? But thanks to this unnamed person for commenting on my style as I had asked for suggestions and comments on the hairstyle I am going to get and this person did heed my call. So thanks anyway!

Too cool to be true: School's National Day Celebration 2007

Some people might think that a school way of celebrating the nation birthday might be very boring. But personally, I think for this year school celebration for Singapore 42th birthday, the school had certainly outdone itself. The parade and the speech was as usual, but luckily it was kept quite short so it's certainly bearable. But the main difference in past year and this year concert could be seen clearly. The concert program was well thought for. Unlike the previous year concerts, the school did not choose to include all the performance arts CCA into the concert, but only allow the school Choir and the Modern Dance to have a chance to perform. After watching the parade, the whole 1500 students flooded into the tiny hall and one of the backstage crew was holding the microphone and kept screaming at us, quite rudely I dare say, to sit down quickly and not to choose our favourite seating spot as many of the students are going to come in soon. After more hustle bustle around, and also after rejecting 2 calls from an unknown number to my hand phone(it was in silent mode.), all the students finally settled down while the stage crew was frantically trying to set up the stage. One of the teachers took over the microphone and pleaded with us to use the background music as a guide for our noise level and not to let our noise level cover the background music which was playing on the speaker. Finally two Secondary 2 host came out and greeted us. The concert offically began with a short 15 minutes video about the history of Singapore. The rest of the program consists of Jam Band Competition, Singapore Quizzes during intervals, Modern Dance dancing, 3T class dancing and Choir singing(encouraging us to sing as well) as an finale. But I will be commenting only on the Jam Band Competition, Modern Dance dancing and the big finale for the Choir.

There's only 3 bands performing and competing for the 3 places. Looks like most of the people are really into studies or either is that they just don't bother to join. So among the 3 bands, one of the bands is a combination of 2 of our classmates and 1 from E4. They are all boys. The other one of the bands is all boys while another band consists of 2 girls and 2 boys. The judges were the teachers and our Vice Principal. I wondered if they know how to appreciate our music..... >.<||| The first band which came out had on costumes loose ties and suit. There's a screen behind each time the band plays so the band could use the video as an advantage to show a video of the original artist singing etc. But although the music is nice, I could hardly hear what the singer is singing about. Maybe it's because that the microphone is not of good quality, but they certainly do not have the "IT" thing to capture the audience attention. They were performing some typical rock 'noisy' English language song and I was covering my ears the whole time because it was just so loud. In the end the first band got the last place. The second band is the one that got the first place. When the host announced what song the band will be performing, I couldn't hear it properly. I could only hear that the song name was called "Butterfly". So I was speaking to Elie about that I think Mariah Carey did sing a song called "Butterfly" and wondered if they were going to perform the song. But then, when they began to play the introduction and the video behind starts playing, guess what the video is playing? It's playing a video on the Digimon! WOW!!! Me being a super fan lover of Japanese animation and anime songs, was of course, absolutely excited! I never imagined that they could perform Japanese songs!!!! So I instantly forget about protecting my ears from the loud music and started to enjoy every moment of the band members playing the introduction for the song when a girl who looks like a native Japanese with messy braids in her hair came out from the backstage to the stage and started to sing. YES! She's singing Japanese song! Her voice is a bit more clearer than the other bands. I enjoyed this band performance the most. =) Below is the exact video and the song she sang...
"Butterfly", Digimon Season 1 First Opening Song

Butterfly Original Full Song

Below is another nice song from Digimon

Digimon Tamers Opening, "The Biggest Dreamer" sang by Wada Kouji

In overall, the second band won the first place and the second place was given to the band our class and E4 class formed(the name of the band is "Fatal Attraction"). One thing
I am curious about is why on earth does all their costumes look like Cosplay or something? Not that I mind of course, I think that they did put out a good show.

So the whole concert ended with the Choir..... it's quite nice concert this year...is it possible for the school to host Cosplay next year???

New Hairstyle???

I have been pondering and toying with the idea of a new hair cut. I been wanting to do it for quite some time but I have no courage to actually do it. But after my brother's words on how my look, hair and spectacles are always old kind, I realised that it's true. After looking at a couple photos of me when I was young(I will post the photos up as soon as possible), I realised that my hair style has not changed much over the years, my spectacles, amazingly enough, even though I had it changed a few times, is actually the same design and colour. Everything that I could control about me has not change at all. Guess that it's time to step out of my safe zone, and actually make some changes about myself to keep up with the times and also, to make me look more beautiful. I will be going to cut my hair with my mother at 24 August 2007(Friday)...I have been wearing my hair in the same way for more than 4 years and I think that it should be time to get a change. Maybe getting layers for my hair? But my fringe is naturally wavy(though it's leaning a bit to the curly side ) and it's really frizzy while the rest of my hair is not very straight but I guess it will be considered as a little bit wavy. My fringe and the rest of my hair are like two contrast of each other that you wouldn't find it on the same head. But somehow it is on the head of mine. What is more frustrating is the fact that my hair was not like this when I was young. My hair was sleek, perfectly straight and healthy looking. Do you doubt my words? Look at the picture of me when I was young. For those who know me, you will surely see the differences of me now and when I was young. I think that perhaps, I was better looking and with better hair when I was young?

Me when I was young.

Is it possible to have a different style and yet to be still able to braid my hair like some of the examples shown at this site and this site ?

[EDIT@11 August 2007]

If I am still able to braid my hair, and have a great haircut that is totally for me AND also that I love it so much, of course I will get that haircut done. Putting the question on if I am still be able to braid/French braid my hair after the haircut aside, I still have some doubts as it going to be a change no matter how big the change it is. I have always worn my hair without layers with a blunt end and most of the years, having it long. I haven't change my hairstyle since Primary 2 or 3 in which I had cut it to short. It been years then and I had yet again grown it back to long hair, for my face shape is no longer suitable for long hair. So my current fear is that...what if I don't like my new cut????? yes, it will grow back again, but I have to live with it for couple months. I am still not sure about what style I wished my new hairstyle to be, but one is I am certain that it must includes the following few points:

*my hair must fall at least about 3 inches below my shoulder
*be suitable for my face shape
*be suitable for my hair type
*easy to recreate & easily maintained
*perhaps make my curls/waves nicer
*must not make it look even more frizzy
*will look awesome even if I didn't use any styling products or tools
*allows me to still be able to braid my hair
*I must love the way it looks and it must just makes me feels that I am beautiful!

Anyway, I bought 2 magazines filled with lots of hairstyles just to hopefully to get a better idea of what kind of haircut I wished to go for. Also, I am currently browsing through some websites too...I found this hair style>>> and I am loving this hairstyle! But than again, let's be realistic. My hair is not suitable for this type of hair style at all. But I just want to show everybody this hair style and how pretty the girl is. :P But there's been change of plans of when I am going for the haircut. I am no longer going to cut my hair at 24 August 2007(Friday), but I will still accompany my mother to watch the hair stylist cut and dye her hair as I wanted to choose a nice colour for her. I asked my mother's advice on if it's advisable to get a new haircut and guess what? She actually approves that too! Actually the hairstylist I have been going to had been asking me if I want to have some layers in my hair every time I went there to get my hair cut. But, every time she asked the question, I flatly refuses to, due to numerous reasons. Since my mother decided that it's time I get a change of hairstyle, I talk to my mother about if she have any ideas or what so ever. During our talk, she realised that if I want to get the message on how I want my new hairstyle to be loud and clear to the hairstylist I usually goes to, it will an impossible mission. This is due to the fact that the hairstylist loves money too much and wants to cut a person's hair as quickly as possible so that she could earn lots and lots of money in one day. So she rather not to spend time on telling and listening to your opinion on how you want it but will rather cut it as quickly as possible. This is okay for you if you are going back for a trim, but not if you wish to change your hairstyle. So having a consultation time with her is certainly a big no no. But my mother and I went there for a haircut as it's cheap at a price of $4 per adult and $3 per child. she is able to provide a service this cheap as it's at her house in which we get our haircut. But if you wish to go there to cut your hair, you must make an appointment first as she has tons of customers. So my mother suggested that I shall get my new haircut at the salon my brother frequents, as my brother can get the kind of haircut he wants there, and we don't have to make an appointment first, plus, we can get the hairstylist opinion on what kind of haircut is more suitable for me and after my new haircut, I can still return to my old hairstylist for trims if I wished to. But this salon cost $8 for each haircut per adult. So now, I guess that I shall be looking through lots of hairstyles, print out those hairstyles and ask for the hairstylist at the salon for advice. I will inform you all if I really cut my hair! =^.^=

[EDIT@12 August 2007]

I am crazy!!! I don't know that choosing a new hairstyle for myself could be so hard!!! I don't know what kind of look I want to get except for the points I have listed above. So far I have been looking through tons of magazines and websites to get a look that I like and is suitable for me. So far, I haven't even found one. The models mostly have straight hair so I do not know what the haircut would look like if it was on my hair. Though I would like to mention many thanks to SUVEN ! Thanks for offering to help me find a perfect hairstyle for me though! Though I would very much love to have bangs, it seemed to be virtually impossible to me as my fringe is wavy leaning to curly side as I have mention before, and having a fringe will be ultra messy.....besides will the haircut look as nice if it was without using hair products and tools? As you can see from my post now, I have decided to change my hairstyle!!!! TO HELL WITH THE FEARS! I am going to make sure that the hairdresser understand perfectly what I mean before she cuts my hair. Do you know of a style that might suits me? Please post at my tag board with a link of the picture of the hairstyle you think might suits me. Please be reminded that I only accept long hairstyles though. :D

Quick update of what's going on....

All right everyone! Just in case someone says that I have been slacking in the blogging department, I am so not and typing this quick and short update on my life is the evidence. I got to hurry on finishing this post as I still have a project on my hand which is due this Thursday which is when we have to present our work to the whole class. Technically saying, there's not much except on finishing and perfecting some editing to be done which I had been slacking off with. But seriously speaking, I think that it's such a boring task for the information can put someone to sleep. But what can I say? This is what my teacher asked us to do and we just have to cooperate or else we will get it from our teacher. Anyway, I will be explaining about the following happenings in detail when I have time in a new post. Currently, there's couple of things going on like for example, the 14Days 13 Nights New Zealand trip in November which I hope that I will get in, couple of projects and also that unfortunate presentation marathon today that had me cursing the person who invented projects. Besides that, I also have to change my passport photos! I am currently trying to save lots and lots of money now so just wish me good luck! How I wish that I have at least a 2GB memory card for my digital camera~! I am going to post on National Day's song and also on Uglies soon! Anyways, more on all these subjects later when I am more free...

What's going on!! A report on my life.

Alright! Finally I have gotten my heart around unplugging the USB wire for my connection to internet and replacing it with my family's Canon Digital Ixus 40. I am so glad that I have camera at home because I have this tendency to take photos of beautiful things and scenery so that I can remember it forever. My friends had been forever persuading me to show them pictures of the few but mostly thoughtful presents I had received. so here's a couple pictures of them hoping that you will enjoy it!

Please note that ALL PICTURES I have taken of presents I received are in the EXACT CONDITION I received in. This is done so that you can judge for yourself on how thoughtful the presents are!

Present from Elie:All pictures are taken the minute I got home.

Above:Present from Elie.

*I have known Elie for 1 and a 1/2 year.*

I was talking to Elie for tons of times on how I am going to buy the Death Note movies VCD the moment I knew that it was released. One day when i meet up with her after the pledge taking, she
suddenly said to me that she knew what to buy for me as a birthday present, even though it was during March(that was during the Secondary 3 camp which we both didn't attend due to special reasons.). I asked her what present she intended to give me. She replied that she shall give me Death Note movie VCD! I was surprised with her answer as I thought that she was fooling me. But she added that she will get my present ready very fast. As i am not sure if she's joking around, I just requested that please let the disc be in VCD for I do not have any DVD player at home. I was not really thinking about this but a week later during Mid March when we were in the middle of a lesson, she suddenly turned to me(we were sitting together at that time), put her hand into her bag and sang 'Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You!'...'huh?' was the only word i could utter through my shock. After all, i had never expected her to give me my birthday present this early and what's more, during lessons too! But anyway, she pulls her hand out of her bag with a flourish and guess what I see? It's none other than the Death Note Movie VCD i wanted! The decorating effort Elie has put in looks like a present to someone she likes as it has lots of straws folded into hearts.HAHA~ no offenses to her though! Of course i loved the present she gave me! It is what i wished for! I would like to say a big thank you to you ELIE!!!!! I will get a good present for you too~!!!!

Present from Vivien: All pictures are taken the minute I got home.

PRESENT REVEALED

Top: A pair of shiny silver earring with a purity percentage of 92.5% of silver and 7.5% of copper which the warranty card says that will not make it less shiny but more stronger and less prone to breakage.

I received her birthday present to me in 25th June 2007 after my CCA when we went to the nearby mall to shopped for correction tape in Popular (but she didn't buy it as it doesn't have the type she wants.). On the way to walking back home with her(as we lived very near together.), she commented that she had already bought my present(FINALLY!). Of course I kept pestering her to give me my birthday present which she refuses to. I did not give up by using my ultimate way of persuasion and finally she said that she will give it to me after we passed that certain point and also that I will need to guess what it is. I got the right answer, which was earring, after a few attempts. When we reached there, she reached into her school bag and complains that her school bag had causes the the bag to cease. She then ask if I do mind receiving a present that lacks in the area of appearance. Of course I do not mind! I am already very happy to have people giving presents (that are bought by themselves and not second-hand.) to me! But mostly, I rated presents on how much thought you have put in it and not the price. What's the point of giving me a $900 antique vase when a simple piece of pretty jewelery that cost not more than $5 will do? After all I have no use for such a expensive vase. Not that anybody did give me a vase of course. It's just an example. When Vivien passed me the package for the present, I actually asked her if she did put the the present into the plastic bag as package was so small that it didn't bugle at all. She told me that she did indeed out the package into the plastic bag and truth to her word, when I look inside the plastic bag, I found a small package lying in it. She then commented that she wouldn't mind me opening it right away for I had already guessed what it was. I opened and out flew a earring which landed on the floor. I was still searching in the tiny package trying to take out the earring so I didn't notice the piece of earring that was on the floor. It was Vivien who noticed it and informed me. I picked it up straight away and was feeling quite guilty that I had dirtied the earring just right few moments after I touched it. Luckily, Vivien didn't mind that. I was still admiring the beautiful and delicate earring that sparkles so prettily when I reached home. It is my first piece of jewelery I owned that was made of silver. I have to admit that real silver jewelery is certainly much nicer than normal cheap jewelery I usually buy in terms of shine and quality. There's just a special thing about it that makes it so appealing. So when I lost one of my gold earring to the toilet bowl, I went to the shop where Vivien bought my birthday present, and bought myself a pair of silver earrings. Once again, thank you Vivien for such a nice belated birthday present! Don't worry...I will remember to get you a nice present!

Present from "my best friend": All pictures are taken the minute I got home.

PRESENT REVEALED!

We went shopping together in celebration of my birthday on the day of my birthday. She passed me the plastic bag right after I meet up with her at my house and warned me that it's made of glass. I flinched when I heard that it was made of glass for I feared that the present might be that hateful decorative items which I loathe very much. When I questioned her about it, she reassured me that it is certainly not a decorative item. I felt very thankful the moment I heard her answer. We went to shopped around in a shopping mall area and ate dinner in a cafe which she uses her discount card. The dinner was delicious. It was getting late and she had not once received a peep from her very much annoying mother who always check on her. When I commented about this, she told me that she had told her parents to not to disturb us on account of my birthday. This was a reassuring thought. It was around 9.30pm when we decided to leave and wait for the bus at the bus stop as she had a curfew of 10pm. While we were waiting for the bus, she told me that I could open the present if I wished to. Of course I jumped at the chance for I was quite curious what was inside the package that was so fragile. Inside the plastic bag contains handmade birthday cards and of course the mysterious package. But when I opened the package, I was shocked. When I asked "my best friend" the origin of the present before I opened it, she claims that she purchased it when she was shopping for it and she thinks that the design is really cute and retro. She claims that she actually intend to buy something that have to do with my favourite Doraemon but could not find any so she decided to settle for this and also this was not a rather expensive present. But as I looked at the present in front of me, I doubt it's origin as the box is certainly not newly bought but was kept for sometime. She claims that she accidentally damaged the box when wrapping the present but obviously it was not the truth. I gotten even a bigger shock when I opened the box as the cups does not cost much and these kind of cups are normally freebies to go along with some daily items you normally bought. Even though I could tell that she was lying, I decided not to make a scene for there was a lot of people waiting for bus at the bus stop. After we reached her house, I complained about how she never keep in touch with me although we were supposedly best friends. She said that she will try to sms, call or email me at least once per week so that we will know of each other's latest happenings. After that, we went back to our own homes. The next day, I decided to call her and asked her about the true origin of the present as I could not get this matter out of my mind. Finally, she confirmed my suspicion. She did not buy the present at all. The so called present was actually a prize her sister had won at some fair. Her mother had this habit of keeping these prizes so that they do not have to spend any money on buying presents. She added that her mother was the one who forced her to wrapped this present and give it to me. She had actually bought a photo frame that costs $3++ but her mother refuses to let her give the photo frame to me and insists that she will have to give this 'present' to me. I don't doubt the fact that her mother is really demanding and unbearable but if she really have the heart and is sincere enough to give me a birthday present, she would have pretended to give that 'present' to me but will buy a present for me when we are at the malls. I felt really angry for she not only lied to me about the origins of the present, and even DARE to treat me as a dumping place for her mother's so called 'presents'. I am her best friend as she claims for goodness sake! I am not expecting for her to buy a really expensive present for me, but I am only asking for a thoughtful one! To be frank, this kind of incident had not happened once but twice! For those who know me well, you will surely know about the snoopy plush toy I received from her mother in front of "my best friend". The problem with the Snoopy plush toy was that her mother wrapped it and claims that it was a present they bought back from their Hong Kong trip. But when I opened the present, a Snoopy plush toy sealed in a plastic bag stamped with the words 'Singapore Airline' came into my view. Obviously the so called brought back from Hong Kong present was a lie and the present was actually a freebie when you travel on the 'Singapore Airline' plane. I comforted myself by thinking that maybe "my best friend"was afraid to defied her mother and thus make no move to stop her from giving the ' brought back from Hong Kong present' to me. But this had happened again and I am certain of what my so called friendship with her is all about. Plus I have tell you that it had been 3 weeks since we had any contact between each other and so far she had not made a move to contact me. This obviously had made her broken her keep in touch at least once a week promise to me. You know what? I am so sick of this kind of fake friendship. I had been most patient with her demanding parents and kept my mouth shut when they show of her results by not remarking that our results could not be compared as we are of different schools. I had pondered for more than 2 months on if I should include her presents in my blog post but I just want to show what is real and what is not. Pictures does indeed speaks more than a thousand words after all. I believed that I am really kind enough for I did not include her real name here. That will than be the real disgrace. Tell me: What is friendship? In a spurt of moment, I have decided to write a poem about friendship here....don't mind me if it's a bad poem with bad rhyming. I just want to express what I think of this friendship is about. This poem is 100% written by me. That's why it's not a professional work you have seen in some other places. I shall give this poem a temporary name until I could think of a better one. Even though it's obvious that I dislike my this year's birthday present from her, I like the present which she gave last year which was a small pretty cloth wrapped case with elaborate chinese design for putting in jewelery or make-up as there's a small mirror inside. As I really like the present, it was why I decided to spend $10.05 for her last year's present on her favourite Winnie the Pooh items. But alas, you could say that I never expected to received such kind of "present" this year. By the way, this reminds me of another lie she said during the "confession time phone conversation". I told her that I always try to estimate the price of the present I received and will give back a present I bought with the similar estimated price. Do you know what she said when I said that? She replied quickly "Yes, I always do that." Well...does the cups from the pictures look like $10.05? Seems like she is really thick skinned. Even my mother agrees. Besides that, this birthday present incident had caused my mother who already had not a good impression of her based on the Snoopy incident and the fact that she always changed the the time or canceled the outing last minute, to have a even worst impression of her. Seriously, I also do in fact had changed my opinion about her. I don't know what I should do now.....
Doubts and Uncertainties.
Lies spoken,
without blink of an eye.
Tales tattled,
without guilty conscience.
Truth and false,
unknown to us.
Trust shattered,
unable to differentiate.
Mind's a mess,
truth's hidden in dark.
Am I to trust,
what is in front of us?
Friendship was not to be,
something like this.
Truth should not be twisted,
until it's so complicated.
Should we end off,
what we have not begin?
Where truth and trust,
rightfully there in the first place.
Forgiving the misgiving,
was taught to me.
Could I fling the past,
by a cast of my hand,
without a thought,
and sought the friendship I seek?

Present from my mother:

As we have the same birthday day, it's certainly more special for we have to give each other a present. I haven't bought a present for her on that day but the present I later bought, which was a CD which my mother regretted not buying. As it was released quite several months ago, it was even harder to buy it as not many stores have it in stock. But I found the CD quite by chance when I was in a CD store near my school browsing. I debated with myself on if I wanted to buy the CD as I had only $20 left for that month allowance and the CD cost $18.90. But then I decided that it was worth buying it. By that time I found the CD, it was during may so I treated the present as a birthday and mother's day gift. But my mother gave me my birthday gift on the very day of my birthday when I got back home from school. She knew that I was going to go out with my friend so she gave me $20 as a birthday present.

Present from my brother:

He gave me $20 as my birthday present and I used it to buy The Best Damn Thing album by Avril Lavigne.

Well...enough of birthday presents I had received so far. During the June holidays, I gave myself a French manicure. I done it myself so please don't laugh at my handiwork as this is my first time doing a French manicure. Let me 2 pictures of the French manicure I have done myself. The pictures were taken about 4 days after I done the French manicure so that's why my nails were chipped. When I went out with Vivien and when she saw my French manicure which I raved that it was a very good job done for a first timer, she commented that the white part looks like correction pen. -_-|||

As all of you can see, I had finally gotten around to changing my blog skin from Death Note movie L blog skin to the current blog skin now which is a blog skin from the anime Tsubasa Chronicle. Tsubasa Chronicle is from the same creator of Card Captor Sakura which is CLAMP. Most of the characters have the same names like for example, the main characters Sakura, and Syaoran. You can learn more about Tsubasa Chronicle at the Wikipedia website. The song which I have included in this blog is the original Japanese version of You Are My Love by the voice actress of Sakura in Tsubasa Chronicle . Her name is Yui Makino. Below shows the video taken from Episode 20 of Tsubasa Chronicle showing Sakura singing the song in the anime.

Direct English Translation Lyrics of what Sakura is singing.
The faint scent of tears on my rain-soaked cheeks...
The warm look on the face of travelers...

The music from our childhood faintly echos in the background...
The memories that I hopelessly try to remember wander aimlessly

That with these wings, launch by my dreams,
Over distance oceans and skies we'll soar, together, to a place where memories never fade.

You light up the way for me in the darkness of night.
Oh, that warm look on your face...
I want to see you...

Romanji Lyrics for You Are My Love(Japanese Version)for easy sing along.
Ame ni nureta hoho wa namida no ni oi ga shita
yasashii manazashii no tabibito

Shizuka ni hibiiteru natsukashii ongaku
omoidasenai kioku samayou

Yume wa tobitatsu no chiisa na tsubasa de
omoi no kienai basho made futari de tooi umi wo sora wo koete

Kurai yoru no naka de watashi wo terashiteru
yasashii manazashi no anata ni
aitai...

Here's a review of the song taken from here.
("You Are My Love", sung by Sakura (Yui Makino) in episode 20 of Tsubasa Chronicle. The Song "You Are My Love", again, is a song played a few times throughout Tsubasa, but Sakura's version is sung for the first time in episode 20, "Gogo no Piano" (Afternoon Piano). She sings it for a mysterious cafe customer (Oruha from Clover) who accompanies her on the piano. Throughout the song, Sakura has flashbacks of herself and Syaoran as children (though she doesn't remember them afterwards), and the song is basically about her wanting to remember Syaoran, and knowing that she should remember, even if she can't. I love this song so much, I really can't explain. I read somewhere that someone though that Yui Makino's voice in this song sounded very childish, and I agree--it does, and it should. Yui Makino does an awesome job of making Sakura sound like a sad, lost little girl when she's singing this, and it makes the song all the more authentic and heartbreaking to listen to. Usually when an actor sings in a TV show or movie, they switch out of "acting" mode and just focus on sounding good as a singer, even if the way they sing the song is completely out of character. But Yui Makino just did such a great job making you believe that it's Sakura singing the song, and I think that's something that really impressed me. ^_^ Anyway, this is such a fantastic, emotional song, and even though the English version of "You Are My Love" is pretty as well, I think Sakura/Yui's version, with it's simple piano accompaniment, is the best.)

English Version of the song sang by another voice actress for Sakura. I think that the Japanese version is nicer as I do not like this english version as much. The lyrics of the English version of You Are My Love is changed to fit the song.

I hope that you enjoy reading this ultra long post!

What i hav been doin in e hols

time flies.....it really does...where has all it gone to??? i have only a week more before the dreaded school lessons starts once more. it's not that i really hate going to school, but having to wake up early in the morning is seriously a big turn off to me. also, not to mention the stupid tasks/assignments/projects we have to complete in such a short time...it's like all the teachers had planned before hand to make sure that we do get all the tasks/assignments/projects at the same time and finish by the same deadline too. it's only one week left before school re-opens and i haven't even get started on any of mine projects and school holiday homework....i really ought to get started on it otherwise i will not have a great time by the time the next weekend comes. i said that because that i can pratically visualize myself sloughing over the projects and homework last minute on satuarday and sunday. that's what i am trying to prevent. but i just haven't gotten my heart into getting around to do my homework...yet...it's seems so funny now thinking back that i actually intended to get started on the holiday homework in the first week of the holidays...well...that's a laugh considering that i didn't even take a glance at the holidays homework....but luckily, i am going to my school's library to complete the Social Studies project with my several other team members...so i guess that that is indeed a good start.

last week thursday(14 June 2007) was my primary 6 class first gathering in the past two and a half years. it seems that why we would have a class gathering after so long. maybe it was the fact that when one of my classmates, Huiting, create a class blog, it made us bonded again. it's was amazing on how everyone was scattered around, busying themselves with their own life and when Huiting created this blog, news were passed down from one to another and suddenly lots of my former classmates were gathered at this blog, tagging at the tagboard. it is as if there's some invisible force pulling each of us towards it and it also made us curious of what's going on with the other former classmates? thus, with the help of Amanda and Huiting, news of the class gathering was posted on the class blog and quite alot of my former classmates know about it. the time and place was 11.45am at CP MRT Station exit. surprisingly, my friends (Suven, Emeline, Yanli) and I were the first one to reach there even though we were late by couple of minutes. i thought that we would be the only ones to be there and there was a rather disapointing thought. but two of my former classmates appear...we decided to go to KFC to eat lunch while waiting for the other slowpokes. gradually, more of our former classmates begin to arrive at the KFC. eventually, there were 8 girls(Suven, Emeline, Yanli, me, Huiting, Amanda and Min Hui)and 9 boys(Shafik, Samson, Randy, Joel, Gabriel, Samuel, Darren, Weng Hong and Kai Ren) attended the class gathering. we actually planned to go to a park to cycle, enjoy the beach etc. , but somehow we ended up at my ex-chinese teacher house. at first i was rather worried that her dog might be like Polar's(Polar is Elie's dog.)kind. those which always bark whenever strangers come near or past by the house. but luckily, Donut(my chinese teacher's dog name. it's a female.)is a very quiet and well behaved dog!! she was rather overjoyed(i think)to see us and kept running back and forth to each of us so that we can pat her. plus, her fur is so fluffy!!! wait a minute, i am not talking about Sesshoumaru's fur thingy...but Donut's fur is like Sesshoumaru's fur thingy as it is very very fluffy and soft to touch~! we stayed there for a while before going to a bowling arena....that pretty much sums up my day....if you would ask me about what i think about the gathering? i will say that it's meaningful. even though years have passed, they are still pretty much the same. joking around all the day...it reminds me of the days when i am still innocent...pretty much fun...and much more relax....

so those who complained that i always didn't update my blog, are you sastified with my post now???

Clues to buy my perfect birthday present..

so as my birthday approaches, some of my dear friends must have wondered what to get for me as birthday present? well...the answer is actually very simple...do you see my wish list? take a good look at it! i had already specify very clearly what i wanted. you might want to try your luck by looking the list of things i want, and then buy the things i wanted and give it to me! i will be very very grateful and touched for after all, these are the things i wanted! but if you are scared that you may just end up buying the same thing with some of my other friends, here are some tips below on my likes and dislikes to make sure that you will get a present i love...

alright, let's start with things i don't like.
my Dislikes (not in order...)
1) SOFT TOYS
yes...i know that lots of girls love cute cute cuddly soft toys, but sorry, that's not the case for me. i don't like any thing that's have to do soft toys. i might ohhh and ahh when i see some incredibly cute soft toy but that does not have to mean that i like it! it's just my natural girl instinct to be tickled by cute things. some examples included in the no soft toys category are key chains with soft toys, or things that have soft toys that come along with it...
2) DECORATIVE ITEMS
things that the uses are only for decorating a house...i believe that i do not need to elaborate on it...
these are things that i could think for now...i will add on later if i think of any more clues to give...
let's go on to my likes...
things i PREFER TO RECEIVE (not in order...)
1) USEFUL THINGS
like the heading suggest, i prefer things that are useful. for example, set of glittery pens, notebook, photo album etc. things that i can actually use in real life are much , in my opinion, better than those i mentioned in my dislikes list. you might be surprised at how these ordinary things might appeal more to me than soft toys and decorative items.
2) SOME RANDOM THINGS...
jewellery like earrings, necklaces, bracelets are fine....as long as things that are proven to be useful, it's alright....
hope that you have a better idea of what are my preferences now!

L movie

alright! yesterday when i was rummaging through the last Wednesday newspaper, i found this article on Death Note manga. it of course grabbed my attention immediately. as i was reading through it, i found out that there's going to be a sequel movie to the movie Death Note!!! alright! guess who the main character will be? Light Yagami fans, sorry to disappoint you but this time, the main character is not going to be Light, but L! imagine that, an entire movie dedicated to the past of L! as usual, L is going to be acted by Kenichi Matsuyama. this movie will be called as L for now as it is still in the pre-production status. according to my source, it will be released in year 2008(Japan). the language, of course, will be in Japanese. for now, the cast list are as follows......
Kenichi Matsuyama As L

Erika Toda As Misa Amane

Fujimura Shunji As Watari

these are the cast list for now...i don't know if they will be adding in any other characters. but isn't it weird that Misa is going to be in the movie? jus how is Misa related to L's past?? hmm~i am waiting for the movie!

Screenshot in Windows Media Player?

hi everybody! it's been quite sometimes since i last posted so i had decided to return to my dear blog with yet another post for those who are interested on what's going with my life. i can truthfully say that recently, it's been sooo chaotic that i could record all the happenings in one go so i shall talk about the happenings in several postings. anyway, i wanted to find really good pictures of my favourite characters to put it in my school file. but unfortunately, all the images i found, are either in poor quality or that it's way too small for my liking. so i ponder on perhaps using my VCDs to play it on the computer and screenshot it so thati can get the picture i want! there's lots of way to screenshot a great picture on windows media player when the video is playing. but all of it doesn't work for the picture you taken is not stable and when you scroll up or down, the image will move thus getting not a full body image! so i found this website http://www.metacafe.com/watch/364199/capture_screenshots_in_windows_media_player . indeed, it's very helpful and now i have the images i wished to have! hope that it helps you all!

Avril Lavigne "The Best Damn Thing"

i am quite a fan of Avril Lavigne's songs so you can imagine my delight on hearing news that she will be launching a new album named "The Best Damn Thing" after waiting so long as her last album was during 2004. no doubt, after listening to the previews on several tracks on her new album, i am going to buy her new album which is set to be released on 17 April 2007 in U.S. but i don't know if it will be the same case for my country. what's interesting about this album is that among the 15 tracks included, there's a song called 'Keep Holding On' which was the song for the movie named Eragon. it's a slow ballad but some said that the version in Avril's new album will be different from the movie version. also, you might be amazed at the fact that for the song 'Girlfriend', Avril had recorded 8 different versions in total. besides the normal English version she sings, there are Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Italian, German and French version available in the iTunes store as well. before you get the wrong idea, i have to clarify that only the chorus of the song is in different languages while the rest of the songs are in English. perhaps you might want to listen to the song 'Keep Holding On' from the movie Eragon below. this song is definitely going to be in one of my favourite songs list.

Doraemon The Magic 2007

Doraemon New Movie!!!
every year, my favourite anime Doraemon will always be launching a new/re-make movie. so without fail, i always buy the VCDs. perhaps that you might think that i am such a childish person. but hey, that what that makes up me! anyway, if you don't like Doraemon, don't bother reading this post for that's what's it's going to be on about! back to the topic...so well now i am going to start intoducing about the new Doraemon movie named (Doraemon The Magic2007)(Nobita no Shin Makai Daibouken - Shichinin no Mahoutsukai)(ドラえもん のび太の新魔界大冒険~7人の魔法使い~) (大雄的新魔界大冒险~7人的魔法使者~). these are as far as i know, the different languages names for the new movie. basically the new Doraemon movie is a re-make of the Doraemon movie named (Nobita's Great Adventure in the World of Magic)(大雄的魔界大冒险)(ドラえもん のび太の魔界大冒険) launched in the year of 1984 . so with now-a-days better high quality graphics, i can expect a better and nicer movie to watch even though that (i think) the story is still the same! the trailer for the movie is below...watch it here or go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkSmbVoP8Go to watch it...

by topping Oricon Weekly Chart, it places BoA right behind Ayumi Hamasaki in terms of who having the most No.1 hit-album. BoA pulled herself out of the tight pack in which all has 4 consecutive No.1-album ; Namie Amuro, MISIA, Mayi and Utada Hikaru. Congratulation BoA !

GIMP SHOP

although it's a long time since i had posted anything on my blog, that doesn't mean that nothing did happen! anyway, for a long time, i had always wanted to buy a Photoshop software to make the photos more beautiful, but unfortunately for me, i don't have that much money for it's way too expensive for me to afford. recently, my brother founded this freeware on the internet GIMP which have the same uses as Photoshop and what's more, it free! so of course we went to download it and my reviews for this program is that...it's really awesome! after all, it's free and it can edit the photos pretty well too! so if you can't afford Photoshop, why not try GIMP SHOP?

i have used two pictures and edited it with GIMP SHOP to make it look like it's a coloured sketch...i think that the pictures after editing are really nice...what do you think? and do remember that i am not a professional photographer so do not expect professional looking photos! my point in showing these photos after editing is to prove that GIMP SHOP's facilities is not bad at all! you can download GIMP SHOP at http://www.gimpshop.net/ . learn how to edit pictures to coloured sketch effect at http://www.dphotojournal.com/photoshop-tutorial-turning-photos-into-colored-pencil-sketch/ .

Hair????Asessories???

ok, so i had gotten which clothes to wear sorted, but now....yet another problem...you can't really say that this problem just got my attention recently...but in fact, i had been pondering over this so called problem for some time now. starting from last year, i had already been wondering on what to do with my 'weird' hair. why do i say that my hair is 'weird'? well, perhaps it's because that my mother's hair is straight and my dad's hair is really curly(think of a bird nest)which doesn't sway when the wind blows so...combine both of their genetic properties together and you get me who has a curly fringe with straight hair at the back of my head. you be confused now right? to bad that is the best i can explain in order to give you a vision on how my hair looks like. so...the auntie who cut my hair advised me to buy a hair wax suitable for my hair so i went to buy the wax...i am abit nervous to try a new hair prodcut for this is the first time i am using a hair product! hopefully, i am able to get the style i want..wish me tons of luck...

Which one to wear??

chinese new year is approaching fast...this sunday will be the lunar chinese new year. i had already gotten my chinese new year clothes but...i don't know which one to wear! in total, i bought 3 long tank top, 2 carpi pants, 5 shorts and one bubble skirt...but the long tank top and carpi pants were actually intended to be my chinese new year clothes but...i discovered that one of my tank top could also be matched with the shorts which i bought so now i am thinking carpi pants or shorts? and also, which tank top should i match it with? or maybe should i wear my bubble skirt???? oh my goodness...this is way too confusing!!!! but thankfully, i had already decided to wear the fake nails which i bought and also some hair wax to enhance and beautify my curly and straight hair...but it's my going to be my first time using hair wax...i should really get down and practice the technique one of these days before the lunar chinese new year...otherwise my hair might not be the intended style i wanted it to be! anyway...i still haven't decided what to wear...seriously...i nearly forgotten that i wanted to buy a hair band to hold my curly hair on chinese new year! should really buy it or otherwise i will surely forget it..i am really forgetful in some ways....

Bought it...

after running over to so many shopping centres and shops, i can happily announce that i had bought my chinese new year clothes!!! finally!! well....actually i do not intend to buy the style that is totally'IN' now but all the stores i been too are selling this kind of style leaving me no other choice...when my mother saw what i bought, she was tad worried about me not going to wear it when it is 'OUT' but i assured her that i will continue to wear it....besides i don't think that it will become 'OUT' so quickly but then again, fashion styles are unpredictable. so that left me to buy a hairband.....and recently i am searching for a good japanese book/software to learn japanese! hope that i will find one...i had started to learn to play hokage funeral!

shopping frenzy...

yesterday's shopping was off with a great start. i went to the place my friends recommended and its was whoa! there's just so many clothes, shoes and bags stores there! although it's definitely crowded there and i spent most of the time trying to get to get through the crowd, i can say that i don't regret spending my time at there. what's more, it's boots heaven there! lots of different kinds of stalls selling different kind of boots with a wide range of style and prices. if i want to buy boots, i will certainly go there. overall, the price for clothes there are quite reasonable considering that it's not over $30 but the quality of the clothes seems to be poor as the material used for some clothes are those kind of stretchy materials that will lose its elasticity after several wash while for some other clothes, the material used is quite thin thus it will be easily wear down if not handled properly. besides this, all the stalls clothes seems to be more or less the same IN style so if you do not want to wear the same thing which everyone is currently wearing, i suggest you not to go there. but if you do keep your eyes open, you might find several great buys that is unique and of good quality. i did buy one pair of shorts($7.20) and a very cute skirt($22) there for casual wear and personally, i think that it is quite a good buy for considering its quality, it was quite a bargain. but unfortunately, i didn't buy any ideal chinese new year clothes as like i say before, the patterns are more or less the same and i didn't find any items which i really like it enough to make it those clothes suitable for a special occasion. i guess that you can say that i am very picky about what i am wearing for the clothes must be comfortable to wear, the colour doesn't run, washable using washing machine, i must really like it and it must be practical. quite a handful of criteria don't you think? anyways, i am going to be going shopping on my own for new year clothes i like. i reckon that it will be a busy day for me for i had already planned several places to go to to look for clothes. just wish me luck will ya?

i want to have a style of...

as i told you all before in my last post, i went to my nearby mall to look for chinese new year clothes but unfortunately, after looking at all the clothes, i don't think that they are suitable... -_- even so, i can say that i had bought two new pair of shorts so that i wouldn't always be wearing the same 3/4 crop pants when meeting my friends! but those shorts are only for casual wear and not for chinese new year! even so, i am thinking of getting a skirt perhaps...something fun, bubbly and just so youthful! no revealing clothes please! sexy is so not me! i prefer casual wear but for the sake of times when i suddenly want to be more girly(not wearing shorts), i shall wear skirts...if you do know me well, you find that i don't wear skirt that much...maybe only once or twice a year not counting school uniform of course! i am going to a place further away from my home to shop for clothes...i heard from my friends that the clothes there are cheap and nice....hopefully it's true and the colours don't run!^^

New Clothes!

new clothes new clothes new clothes! please do excuse my maddness for i am just simply too excited at the thought of getting new clothes! it's been months since i had been getting any new clothes so perhaps that's why i am so excited about it. most of my clothes had been worn for at least a year and some i can't even fit into it...maybe it's because that i had grown fatter? i hope not...haha~then again, i am way to skinny. i am underweight!!>.< anyway, i am going to my nearby shopping mall to search for new year clothes! i am still wondering which line i want to go. i mean like hard rock, punk, girly...well you get the picture. but for sure i am going to put hair wax on my hair to make my hair more neat, tidy and fabulous! hope that all goes well! =^.^=

i had just bought a japanese learning book yesterday....it's a really great book which cost only $10.40. so cheap! it's has basic english words and how to pronounce it in japanese. it's great for travellers and beginners like me. wish that i can be like my brother who can learn third language...~haizz~but oh well, at least i can use my brother CD to listen to how to pronounce the japanese words...yesterday i went with Vivien together to buy the book...actually it's that we just shop around and i just saw this book. after thumbing through the pages, i found that it's quite easy to understand and all that so i was really hyper and wanted to buy this book. Vivien and i look at some of the japanese words and pronounce it together. Vivien was really cute and pronounced o-ne-san(which means elder sister) to one-san...haha~ one-san desu???LOL..had lots of fun yesterday...i wanted to buy a complete lesson course of japanese!!! it must come with CDs to teach you how to pronounce for other wise i might pronounce it wrongly and make a fool of myself which is NOT funny at all!! thou shall post till ye....LOL^0^

Rich V.S Poor(t-shirt version)

there's really a lot of difference between a local neighbour school and the top school. take the secondary one camp t-shirt as an example. apparently, richer school or so as they say, seems to have an better t-shirt design. well, let me just show you some pictures of my younger brother(secondary in year 2007)camp t-shirt and mine 2005 secondary one camp t-shirt for you to judge for yourself....
Front of the Secondary One Camp T-Shirt
Left:mine,Right:my younger brother's

Back of the Secondary One Camp T-Shirt
Left:mine,Right:my younger brother's

so can you see the difference now??? of course it isn't that i complain that my camp t-shirt design is ugly...after all, it's designed by our art teacher as well...but if you were to wear this shirts on street, black will be definetly a plus colour to choose from when designing t-shirts. after all, the colour black is never hard to match with clothes and it is no doubt the IN colour. i am just keeping my fingers crossed with hope that my secondary three camp t-shirt WILL be something cool like my brother's camp t-shirt!!! teachers or whoever is designing our shirts, can you hear our pleas???
it seems that even their crest design is better than my school! well that can't be help i guess as my school was originally a chinese school so maybe their imaginations and creativity are not as good as whoever who designed my brother's school crest? looks like i have to bring in pictures for you all to see again so as to get a clear idea of what i am talking about...

Left:brother's unmodified crest(pin),Right:brother's colour modified crest on school's Polo shirt.

Left:modified brother's black and white crest on school's notebook, Right:my school's crest(pin)

the above crest mentioned with (pin) are the school crest pins which we pinned on our uniform respectively.

there are two different crest for my brother's school. the one on the far left is the unmodified original crest created years ago. the one on the centre left and right are the school crest which are modfied to make it look nicer. i love both of the modified school crest. the design makes me think of the crest for old castles in fairytales. a really dreamy and beautiful crest....why couldn't i have such a nice crest like that??? perhaps it's because that my brother's school have a longer history than my school??? who knows? well, anyone is a genius to have design such a pretty crest!^0^

i guess that i shall blog until here today...hope that you all enjoy reading this post and looking at the pictures i taken!

Thank you my brother!

i must say thank you very much to my dear dear brother for finding such a wonderful and free file convertor!!!!!it's really useful and i had many plans to use it....=^.^=...my poor pitiful best friend's lousy internet provider could only go to educational websites and are unable to go to the other websites like YouTube and thus is unable to view the excellent videos i reccomended her to watch.so i get use the convertor to convert it to something she can watch and send it to her!yay~!!!!otherwise for i know that my best friend will be very bored for even when my best friend is online, she is only able to go to educational website and is not even able to enter msn or hotmail....but luckily she can go into yahoo mail so she is still able to send emails to me....^0^ life will be very horrible if she couldn't even contact me!so once again, thank you my dear dear brother!haha~

How one tune can change..

it's really amazing how one tune can change so quickly...at first i thought that my chemistry teacher was very strict and all that...but now after him teaching us for few days, i found out that he can be strict but not strict with us too. he could also joke with us and have fun together.but sometimes i think that his emotions vary a lot and he could be one minutes really happy and next minute really serious and sadly, this reminds me of a mental hospital patient....-_- no offence to anybody...seriously, now that he seems that he can be a nice person, i guess having lessons which these teachers can be fun as well....providing we do our homework of course...^O^....i am really lucky to have all the good teacher this year..=^.^=...unlike some other friends of mine who had gotten a particular monkey as their teacher....seriously no offence directed at anyone!

Different tunes...

after practising with different scores on my keyboard, i found that it seems the sound my keyboard produce is very very different from those real piano with hammers banging to produce those sweet melody.even though the music keyboard produced is artifical,i expected that the sound produced should be as least similiar. but when i play the scores, the music produced differ a lot from playing on piano to on keyboard.my friend who took piano also commented on the sound my piano produced. the pitch and tone is a LITTLE different from playing on piano but i guess i have no choice because i do not have enough money to buy a grand piano or something like that.but i still wish that i am able to have real piano for the sound produced is definetly better and sweeter...i envy those people who have a real piano...i wish that i have a piano and is able to play those really wonderful song i like..but too bad,i am not that good in piano...but i will try!!i earn to listen to the melody played by me on the real piano which is much nicer then being played on my keyboard...
